What We Do
We celebrate Culpeper’s battlefields and history.
Our Mission
The Friends of Culpeper Battlefields™ (FOCB) is an organization supporting battlefield-focused preservation, stewardship, and heritage tourism across the historic Culpeper region.
Since its inception, FOCB was instrumental in the efforts to create Culpeper Battlefields State Park, comprised of more than 2,200 acres of battlefield land preserved for the Civil War battles of Brandy Station, Cedar Mountain, Kelly’s Ford, and Rappahannock Station.
On June 8, 2024, after years of work along local and state partners, the Friends of Culpeper Battlefields celebrated the dedication of Virginia’s 43rd state park - the Culpeper Battlefields State Park.
The organization continues to work with government officials, partner groups and community leaders to support the park’s stewardship, management and role in the community, including offering resources for those exploring the area such as maps and itineraries.
