Join an expert guide on a tour of the Cedar Mountain battlefield, and learn about the chronology of the battle, hear the stories of the soldiers and civilians impacted by the battle, and visit the key landmarks on the battlefield.
Tourists are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes, bring bottled water and bug spray, and be prepared to walk over uneven terrain. These tours occur every second and fourth Saturday of every month.

Generations Event at Brandy Station
250 years ago, the Continental Army was born, which laid the foundation for what became the United States Army.
To celebrate the birthday of the Army, join the American Battlefield Trust at Brandy Station for a family-friendly Generations Event.
Kids from 6-17 can try their hand at marching like a soldier, wear a tricorn hate, and race through Revolutionary War-themed activities.
This is a free event that allows participants to walk in the footsteps of the Minutemen, so please wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

Descendants Day at the Graffiti House
Meet and hear from the descendants of the Battle of Brandy Station, the men who camped in Culpeper during the winter, and those involved in the beginning of the Overland Campaign.
There will be food, multiple speakers, re-enactors, and more!

162nd Anniversary of the Battle of Brandy Station
On June 9, 1863, the Battle of Brandy Station was fought between Confederate General J.E.B. Stuart and Union General Alfred Pleasonton.
On June 7, the Culpeper Battlefield Tours will host a free event that commemorates the battle with no ticket or advance notice required. There is a list of times and locations in which people will see the 35-minute introduction of the battle all the way down to the 30-minute reeactment of the Duffie Attacks, which is the conclusion of the tour.

Culpeper Bring Spring Cleanup
Enjoy the spring day by preparing Yowell Meadow Park for the warm weather months.
Join the community members and organizations in helping keep the river and community clean and healthy. Litter grabbers, bags, and gloves for all volunteers will be provided.

Food will be provided by Zippy’s Smoke Shack, 18th-century tavern music will be performed by Colonial Faire, and Susan Graham will be presenting on colonial dining.

This is an exclusive, small-group tour that will focus on the architecture, history, and ongoing preservation efforts of the historic site.
There will be different guides on the tours happening this month, and tourists will get an up close and personal with the craftsmanship of the house in the 18th century, and the augmented preservation projects that happened in later years.

Graffiti House Tours!
With warm weather officially upon us, visitors to the Brandy Station battlefield can now tour the Graffiti House every Saturday!
These tours go from 12:00 to 4:00, but every Saturday the house is open for touring until November. For more information, click here.
Culpeper Minute Men: Icons of Independence
In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, explore the exhibit in the Museum of Culpeper History that honors the Culpeper Minute Men.

Brandy Station Lecture Series
The Hatfield and the McCoy rivalry is easily the most famous family rivalry in history. Join the Brandy Station Foundation for a two-hour lecture series with descendants of the families, and how they had a family feud from the Civil War until 2003.

Mother's Day at Mountain Run Winery
Honor your beloved mother with a relaxing day at the Mountain Run Winery, featuring live music, wine, and food.
The winery is open 12:00 to 7:00, and the pastoral landscape is the perfect place for socializing, family picnics, and relaxing. It also as a playground and plenty of space for kids to run wild.

Birding Walk at Roundabout Meadows
PEC Wildlife and Habitat Restoration Coordinator, October Greenfield, will take participants on a 1.3 mile walk over rolling pastures and meadows to find native Virginian birds.
Possible bird sightings include eastern meadowlarks, field sparrows, and a variety of other grassland and shrubland species.
Due to the terrain, birders are advised to wear appropriate footwear and clothing, and also bring their own binoculars.

Park Day at Manassas National Battlefield Park
Join the Manassas Battlefield team for a cleanup of the battlefield!
Volunteers will participate in trash pickup, fence line clearing, and tree planting.
Park Day at the Nine Mile Tract
Join the Central Virginia Battlefield Trust as they participate in the American Battlefield Trust’s annual Park Day!
Volunteers will help clear brush for parking and on the interpretive trail.

Park Day at Historic Salubria
Join Historic Salubria as they participate in the American Battlefield Trust’s 29th annual Park Day event!
Historic Salubria will have volunteers come out to help repair split-rail fences, cleaning up the cemetery, and tidying up the inside and outside of the house.
Volunteers will also receive a free, behind-the-scenes tour of Salubria as a thank you. Volunteers are also encouraged to bring any tools they have to help out with the tasks, including gloves and protective gear.
In the event of inclement weather, Park Day will be held on Mary 3rd.

Adult and Kids Easter Egg Hunts at Mountain Run Winery
Save the date for the adults and kids Easter egg hunt!
Egg hunts for kids are $7 and for adults, egg hunts are $16. Adults will have adult themed prizes, such as gift certificates to the winery. If there are spaces available the day of, prices will be $10 for kids and $20 for adults.

Easter Extravaganza
Enjoy the beautiful spring weather at Smith Mountain Lake with the Easter Bunny!
Bring your own basket and head to the Discovery Center for an Easter egg hunt. There will be over 1,700 eggs to find. If you find the golden eggs, be sure to hand them to a ranger for a special prize.

Culpeperpalooza 2025
For two days, Culpeperpalooza will have attendees listen to a variety of live music and enjoy a variety of food and drinks.
This year, proceeds will go towards SAFE, which is a nonprofit organization that provides Services to Abused Families. In the past, Culpeper raised over $36,000 to support the local music education and community programming.

22nd Annual Bluebell Walk
Mike Stevens was a development economist who bought Bonny Brook Farm with his wife in 1992. He was born in England, lived in Africa and the Far East, before finally settling in America in 1985. The restoration of Bonny Brook became his passion, and efforts from the PEC and other organizations will be done to preserve Bonny Brook in his honor.
To commemorate Mike after his passing in February, the PEC will allow people to take a one mile walk through the flowers, rain or shine. Outdoor clothing and boots are recommended, and pets are not allowed.

Guided Tour of Cedar Mountain
Join an experienced Cedar Mountain battlefield tour guide for a walk on the battlefield. Learn about the chronology of the battle, hear the stories of soldiers and civilians who were impacted by this battle, and visit the landmarks on the battlefield.
The tour starts at the visitors’ center and goes for about 45 minutes. Due to the nature of the terrain, tourists are advised to wear walking shoes, bring bug spray, and bottled water.

Revolutionary Culpeper
Join the Culpeper Museum for a two-hour walking tour through Culpeper, and learn about the role the town played in the Revolutionary War.
Tourists will learn about the people, places, and events that were shaped by Culpeper’s patriots, and how those activities were put into the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and other founding documents.
Museum staff members and volunteers will tell the tales of the Culpeper Minute Men, religious liberty, and the western expansion on the walking tour of downtown Culpeper.
Those who plan to attend should wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water, and dress/prepare for the weather. Tours will be held rain or shine, unless otherwise advertised.
